Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Hoheneck- Self Check-In, I found the atmosphere of this 19th-century villa in Engelberg village particularly appealing. The spacious room, complemented by hardwood floors and large windows, created a cozy environment conducive to relaxation after a day of outdoor activities. Though the reception is unstaffed, the self-check-in process was smooth. An envelope containing my key awaited upon arrival, and the multilingual staff were prompt in responding to any inquiries via message. The highlight of my stay was the tranquility found within the charming garden area, ideal for unwinding. the well-equipped 500 m^2 gym provided a modern escape for fitness enthusiasts. I appreciated the communal kitchen, allowing me to prepare meals, which is especially rewarding in Switzerland, where dining out can be quite costly. While I didn't utilize the ski facilities, including the nearby ski school, the convenience of these amenities for travelers seeking a more active experience cannot be overlooked. Hoheneck offers a serene retreat for those looking to blend relaxation with Swiss alpine adventure.
